Summer has been busy for us!

New Drag

The summer was busy for the Edwardsburg Snowmobile club!  We found out we are eligible to receive a new drag from the snowmobile fund.  Our board members reviewed options and decided to purchase a Dubie Welding.  Dubie Welding is a company from Gaylord Michigan.  Our new drag will be 8 1/2’ wide with a road scraper.  This will allow us to remove the excess snow from roads and driveways while grooming.  Keeping motorist and landowners safe and happy is as important as wonderful groomed trails.  Always remember without landowners we don’t have trails to ride.

In the last month we had the opportunity to buy some land.  We bought 3 acres South/East of the M-62/ Redfield intersection.  The plan being to build a groomer barn to house all our equipment, stakes, signs, etc… and possibly even have a meeting location of our own.

2016 Club Trips

At our first meeting of the year there was a lot to talk about and excitement is brewing with the starting of trip plans.  The Baileys would like suggestions on where to hold the annual U.P. trip for the week of January 23 – 30th.  Mr. Bailey is thinking of staying somewhere between Newberry and Marquette for a mid U.P. trip this year.  If you are interested in going on this trip please join us at our next meeting or contact the Baileys.

A second trip to Krupp’s Resort in Twin Lakes is being thrown around for the week of February 27 – March 5th.  The Baileys have generously taken on planning this trip also, so if you are interested please let them know as soon as possible.

Edwardsburg Snowmobile Club’s Northern Adventures

Edwardsburg Snowmobile Club ventured to Newberry, MI this year for a club trip January 24th – 31st 2015. We had a great week of riding and making new memories with great friends. Our home base was Berry’s Motel in Newberry ( We would like to thank the folks at Berry’s Motel and Cabins for hosting us for the week.

Our adventures throughout the week took us to Naubinway, Epoufette, Trout Lake, Seney, Curtis, Tahquamenon Falls, Paradise and Grand Marais.  View pictures of this trip on our website under 2015 Newberry.

Our appreciation goes out to the clubs & organizations in the areas we visited. The trails were in WONDERFUL condition. Since we had a few of our clubs groomer operators with us, they were able to enjoy the sport from behind the windshield of their sleds instead of the groomers in our areas! THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK!
